Farnsley volleyball team had the opportunity to visit Bellarmine University and the University of Louisville—a reward they earned by winning the Fall Sports Wildcat Scholar-Athlete Cup. The trip celebrated the team’s hard work in the classroom and gave them a firsthand look at college academics, campus expectations, and the daily routines of college students. Throughout the day, our athletes toured campus, watched both universities’ volleyball teams practice, and heard from university staff about navigating college life, managing coursework, and preparing for future academic success. Our players were fully engaged from start to finish. Phoebe shared that seeing campus and watching practice helped her feel more prepared for college. Alyssa commented that learning how college classes work made her better understand the academic expectations ahead. Summer noted that the experience showed how dedication in the classroom creates new opportunities, and Alexandra said learning about college structure and listening to the staff was motivating and inspiring. Their reflections throughout the day made it clear they were soaking in every moment. We are extremely proud of how this group represented Farnsley—academically, athletically, and as leaders. Congratulations to Coach Blair, Coach Burks, and our volleyball scholar-athletes for setting the standard for what it means to be a Wildcat. This field trip is exactly what the Wildcat Scholar-Athlete Cup is designed to promote—students pushing themselves in the classroom and being rewarded with opportunities that connect academics and athletics in powerful ways. We are extremely proud of our volleyball team for setting the bar high for all Farnsley sports.
