August 31- Sep 5 Week in Review The Farnsley Athletic Department is proud of Markel Flippins-Brown for being accepted into the Louisville Junior Kappa League for the 2026-2027 school year. The main goals of the Louisville Kappa League are to develop leadership potential, encourage high academic achievement, and foster community service among young men in grades 8 through 12. Congratulations Markel! Baseball Update: Following an impressive opening-week sweep, our Baseball team fell just short in a road nail-biter against Christian Academy. After navigating several heat cancellations, the Wildcats are set for a high-energy Week 3 with a stacked lineup of games against JCTMS, Kammerer, and the Christian Educational Cohort. Cross Country Update: After last week's meet was canceled due to extreme heat, our Cross Country runners are eager to hit the trail for a two-race week! The team competes in the JCPS Championship Series on Tuesday at Charlie Vettiner Park before heading to their first big invitational of the season—the North Oldham "Rumble in the Jungle"—this Saturday. Football Update: Your Farnsley Wildcats are sitting atop the division in 1st place with a strong 2-1 start to the season! After heat postponements sidelined both JV and Varsity last week (which will be rescheduled for the end of the season), the Varsity team is ready to hit the field again. Catch the Wildcats on the road this Saturday as they battle Crosby at Jeffersontown High School. Golf Update: Following a week of heat-related postponements, our Golf team is eager to get back on the course! Currently sitting in 2nd place in the division, the Wildcats return to action this Thursday, September 10, against Noe at Bobby Nichols Golf Course. To make up for last week, the team will double up on matches the week of September 14. Softball Update: After extreme heat kept our Lady Wildcats sidelined last week, the Softball team is ready to hit the field for a big week of home action! The team hosts Carrithers on Tuesday before heading into a Friday doubleheader against Kammerer and JCTMS at PRP High School. Tennis Update: After extreme heat delayed the start of their season, the Wildcats Tennis team is finally ready to take the court! The team kicks off its season this week with two big matchups: Tuesday against Noe at the Southwest Government Center, followed by Thursday against Kammerer at Petersburg Park. Volleyball Update: It was a sweep of a week for 6th grade and JV Volleyball with big wins over Westport and Barrett! With their clutch victory against Barret, the 6th-grade squad officially secured tournament eligibility and is now in the hunt for the #1 overall seed.
